Choosing the Color of your New Roof

Be careful when making your choice. You will have to live with this decision for many years to come! Neutrals are a good choice because they are easier to work with and remain stylish while trendier colors become dated over time.

Ways to successfully coordinate colors:
  • Gather Samples: Brick, siding and painted wood should be considered when choosing your shingle color. Try to gather samples of these items in proportionate sizes (large samples for predominate colors and smaller samples for details and accents. Always choose your siding, paint and brick in natural light.

  • Look at other roof colors in your neighborhood. Being able to see an entire roof is very important rather than making your choice by looking at a few sample shingles. Please contact us if you would like a list of houses in your area.

  • To select the best colors for your home, view five or six shingles in natural light from a distance. This allows you to get the full impact of the blending of colors and patterns in the shingle itself. Remember, shingle color may vary due to weather conditions and time of day.

  • Contractor recommendations: As professionals, we have roofed many homes and can be helpful to you in this process. There are many manufacturers and many of these have the same colors in general, but will often have distinctive quality of its own. Once you have chosen your base color, look at several manufacturers products to make the final decision.

  • Another great way to choose the right product and color for you is to visit a supplier showroom. At a showroom you can compare a range of products and colors, all under one roof!
